Simple = Sederhana

Present = Waktunya 

Artinya Simple Present Tense adalah kalimat sederhana yang kita ucapkan ataupun kita katakan diwaktu sekarang, di kondisi sekarang, hari ini, bulan ini, tahun ini atau bahkan saat ini.

Fungsi dari Present Tense :

1. General Truth yaitu sebagai sebuah ungkapan yang berisi fakta, contohnya "Matahari terbit dari Timur"

2. Habitual Action, untuk menyatakan sebuah kebiasaan atau keseharian. Contohnya "Saya pergi ke sekolah setiap hari"

Positive Sentences (+)

(+) S (I/You/We/They) + Verb 1 + O

(+) S (he/she/it) + Verb 1 (s, es) + O

Example 

1. You Play Gadget 
2. She Plays Gadget

Negative Sentences (-)

(-) S + Don't / Doesn't + V1 + O

Example

1. I Don't eat cake today
2. She Doesn't eat cake today

Interrogative Sentences (?)

(?) Do/ Does + S + O

Example 

1. Do you know him?
2. Does he love me?
3. Don't you believe me? 
4. Doesn't he go to the class? 

Catatan :

s/es only kita gunakan pada kalimat positif pada subjek he she it 

es digunakan untuk verb1 yang berakhiran ss, ch, x, o

Example 

1. Mr Dias misses his mother
2. He Kisses his son.
3. he watches TV 
4. she fixes car
5. He goes to school

Khusus Untuk Akhiran Verb 1 dengan huruf "Y" :

Akhiran huruf  Y yang sebelumnya Vocal seperti play, lay maka ganti dengan s

Example 

1. He plays gadget
2. She lays 

Sedangkan akhiran huruf Y yang sebelumnya konsonan seperti fly & try maka ganti dengan ies.

Example 

1. Bird fly on the sky       menjadi       Bird flies on the sky
2. She try a new car         menjadi       She tries a new car
